A New Solution

CWES is proud to introduce a patented product offering to meet the unique needs in Hawaii: Vertical Solar Solutions (VSS). This technology aims to provide a Point-Of-Use (POU) source for CWES Star-Friendly® exterior lights, reducing the draw from the grid.

VSS can be added to new or existing poles, providing power from sunrise to 10 AM and again from 4PM to sundown, thereby capturing the energy missed with traditional horizontal panels. Our technology is a great compliment to existing solar installations to maximize every ray of sun. Uniquely, VSS does not add wind loading to the poles, as the panels pivot with wind and then return to the neutral state.

There are several options for energy collection, utilizing LiMH battery pack during the day and then discharges from sunset to sunrise, or can be controlled to turn off at a certain time during the night.
